Parker Evans rushed for 144 yards on just five carries and scored three touchdowns Saturday afternoon, as Owego Free Academy picked up its second consecutive victory with a 52-6 home thrashing of Whitney Point in a Section 4 Football Conference Division IV home contest.

Justin Bensley scored a pair of first-quarter touchdowns, returning a fumble 10 yards for a score and catching a 19-yard touchdown pass from Harley Edwards. Ethan Farabaugh added a 10-yard run, as Owego jumped out to a 19-0 first-quarter lead.

Evans added two touchdown runs in the second quarter, and Edwards caught a 5-yard pass from Dan Brainard to give the Indians (2-3, 2-1) a 40-6 halftime lead.

"We came out and played well right from the start," Owego coach Steve Virkler said. "Offensively, we did a nice job up front.

Before the game, Owego honored 2005 graduate Charles E. Bilbrey Jr., who was killed in Iraq in July.

School officials presented his parents, brother, sister and grandparents with a framed copy of Bilbrey's No. 86 jersey.

"It was a pretty emotional presentation," Virkler said. "He was just a great kid. He was the ultimate team player in football and the ultimate team player for our country. This was just a way for us to say thank you for Charles and his family."
